Hello, I am Laura Bertinelli, a graphic designer and illustrator who loves cats, cooking and collecting knick-knacks.

This is where I get together all the (beautiful) things that inspire me and where I write down my life tales.

Thursday links & Things I love

It is just 10 days until Christmas?! Oh, time runs SO FAST!
Here in Rome it’s really cold, but we’re blessed with delightful sunny days and breath-taking sunsets! If you’re covered in several layers of clothes, having long walks is really pleasant.

A list of things that made me smile: ♥ text messages full of love from my boyfriend (thanks, free-texts Christmas special offers!) ♥ going to the cinema to see You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger ♥ my new Lego storage head (see pics in last Saturday post!) ♥ the Christmas record I worked on a few weeks ago being printed and published! I can’t wait to share some pics with you! ♥ drawing a new card, with a graduate monkey wearing a mortarboard ♥ meeting my teacher to talk about my degree project ♥ the awesome, sunny, neat office where my teacher works ♥ telephone calls from my dad, worried about me being involved in the riots caused by yesterday’s protests: my university is right where the riot took place! (read more here) Luckily, I came back home a few hours before the protest began ♥ planning/dreaming about moving abroad with S. ♥ long emails with new friends about a new, upcoming feature for this blog! ♥ Lastly, I’m planning to buy a compact digital camera with the money I earned with the Christmas artwork: any suggestions? Should I choose Canon or Nikon?

♥ Type is Art is an interesting interactive project that allows experimentation through pieces of the 26 letterforms of our alphabet. Drawing with type? Yes!

♥ Nubby Twiglet on how to make it happen:setting new goals and how to do the first steps towards making your dreams come true. I needed some inspiring words!

♥ Some marvellous illustrations by Cedric Rivrain! Check his fashion drawings!

♥ What do you think of this photoshoot of Kate Moss in Vogue Italia? I usually love her, but I don’t like these photos so much: I prefer her with blonde hair!

♥ Olympia Le-Tan creates clutches that look like old books: so chic!

♥ I’d love to have my cats in one of these Pei Pods!

♥ Santa Claus, please, give me this book!

♥ …and this one too!

Now, it is time to wear my super warm coat and go out!
Have a wonderful Thursday,

love!

Thursday Links

Such a long time since the last Thursday Links post! Living without a computer for two weeks… so weird! I arranged a few links in the past days, here they are!

♥ Nubby Twiglet isn’t just a great graphic designer, but also a good blogger and she is always nice to hera readers. In the post I linked, she answers a young graphic designers on what’s our job like.

♥ These Pan Am guides left me speechless. Long live 70s graphic design!

♥ Cat Versus Human, always such a perfect and funny view on the complicated relationship between cats and humans. This strip made me laugh so hard!

♥ This lookbook for the J.Crew fall collection features such amazing photographs and clothes!

♥ I discovered this website which allows you to paste an image of a tasty, delicious slice of bacon on every site you like: http://bacolicio.us/ YUMMY!!

♥ An AMAZING Japanese videoclip about sushi!

♥ Friends of Type, a blog about excellent typography. A great source of inspiration for type-related projects… I want to be featured in this! >:[

♥ The lovely Blanca Gomez [which I already talked about!] has also an Etsy Shop! Buy buy buy!!!!!! :D
