Hello, I am Laura Bertinelli, a graphic designer and illustrator who loves cats, cooking and collecting knick-knacks.

This is where I get together all the (beautiful) things that inspire me and where I write down my life tales.

Last December I won my first ever online competition, powered by the lovely and talented illustrator Charlotte Vallance.

After almost a month (Poste Italiane and Royal Mail aren’t my friends anymore!), today I finally received my prize! It was a surprise packet, therefore I had no idea on what to expect… and when I opened it… WOW! So many wonderful things!

♥

“Row of houses” is a beautiful print that portrays a row of typical British houses. As soon as I saw it on Charlotte’s blog, I loved it, because it reminds me of the place I lived in while I was on holiday in London a while ago.

Now I have to decide where to place the print in my studio!

What surprised me the most were these lovely prints on transfer paper… I haven’t seen transfers in ages! My mind immediately flew back in time to my primary school years. Aww!

Also, the sticker is a favorite! Are those the lions in Trafalgar Square? (I went to London in 2005 and my memory has some lapses!)

In the package I also found an origami (not pictured), two tags with “Like” and “Dislike” stamped on them, and three illustrated cards.

The peacock is wonderful, isn’t it?

Charlotte has a personal and unique style, with lots of details and color; I love the “analogical” vibe of the illustrations, and her love for paper comes out of every work she does!

Be sure to check her blog and have a look at her illustrations!

Love, always!
